The visual arts program offers the PYP, MYP, DP, and elective arts. Through the program, students develop their ideas, skills and techniques using traditional media, 3D materials and computer based design.
In lower secondary visual arts, students are exposed to various art movements and artists while expanding their vocabulary, knowledge, and understanding. In the upper secondary level (in both MYP and elective arts) students focus on thematic ideas implementing learned artist, movements, and theories while broadening their personal world-view. Through the visual arts program, students are provided opportunities to become informed practitioners and viewers of art. These foundational courses provide a strong base for students to prepare for the DP Visual Arts which emphasizes students independent learning skills using the creative process.
