Head of School

Message from the Head of School

As the newly appointed Head of School at Gyeonggi Suwon International School (GSIS) for the 2024-2025 school year, I am honored to usher you into this pivotal chapter of our school’s history. Embracing this role fills me with a profound sense of calling and responsibility. My tenure as Vice Chairperson of the Board of Trustees has deepened my commitment to navigate our school through a landscape marked by rapid technological evolution and educational transformation.

GSIS is dedicated to cultivating internationally minded learners who will lead and serve for the glory of
God, utilizing their unique talents and abilities. This mission is more relevant today than ever, compelling all students to discover their God-given gifts, envision their roles in serving diverse global populations, and lead transformative societal changes. The challenges posed by climate crises, advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics, socio-economic shifts, and cultural conflicts highlight the urgency of our educational endeavors.

The Board of Trustees has restructured our school’s leadership to fully support our mission during these transformative times, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. In my role as Head of School, I am tasked with overseeing all school operations and spearheading innovations through our newly established Office of Innovation. This office is dedicated to exploring futuristic educational models that complement our current GSIS IB curriculum, with a particular focus on adaptive learning and personalized education.
Our commitment to innovation includes the phased introduction of new educational technologies, software, and resources. These initiatives are designed to provide personalized educational experiences that captivate students' interests and maximize their educational outcomes, enabling them to continually set and achieve new goals.
Matthew 5:16
inspires us to "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

As GSIS fulfills its mission, the growth and success of our students will illuminate our entire community, affirming GSIS as a beacon of light and leadership.

Our goal is to establish GSIS as one of the top premier international schools in Korea within five years and as a leading institution in East Asia within ten years, reaffirming our status as a distinguished Christian international school.

We are expanding non-academic educational opportunities and resources to enhancecollege admissions and provide diverse extracurricular activities. Our partnerships with hospitals, global corporations, diverse educational institutions, including other international schools, and GSIS alumni aim to provide students with opportunities to serve and discover their vocations, supported by an enhanced college counseling and career development program.

The success of GSIS depends on our community. Your involvement as parents is invaluable as we introduce new initiatives. We encourage you to actively participate in our school community, attend events, and provide feedback that will help us continuously improve.

As we navigate this era of transformation and growth, I invite you to join me in prayer for our school’s continued prosperity and spiritual guidance. Thank you for your trust, support, and commitment to making GSIS a beacon of educational excellence and Christian faith. I look forward to meeting you and anticipate a year filled with significant achievements and growth.

In Christ’s Love and Service,

Dr. Jaehee Lee
