President’s Welcome Message
Welcome to Gyeonggi Suwon International School.
It is my privilege to welcome you to GSIS. Whether you are a current family, a prospective parent, an alumnus, or a guest visiting our school for the first time, I hope you will discover a community with a clear sense of both purpose and possibility—a school deeply rooted in Christian faith while preparing students thoughtfully for a rapidly changing world.
At the heart of GSIS is our mission: “GSIS cultivates internationally-minded learners to lead and serve for the glory of God.” For us, this mission speaks not only to what students should learn and who they should become, but also to why they learn and how they will ultimately use their knowledge, talents, and abilities.
The world our students will inherit is changing at an extraordinary pace. Advances in artificial intelligence and technology, shifts in higher education and the workplace, and growing global complexity make it increasingly difficult to predict what their lives and careers will look like. For this reason, education cannot simply prepare students for their next test, their next university, or even a particular career. We must prepare them for a future we cannot yet predict.
This means helping students develop the capacity to think critically and creatively, embrace meaningful challenges, adapt to change, learn from failure, work across differences, and lead with courage and compassion. Academic excellence remains essential, but our responsibility extends beyond academic achievement alone.

As GSIS fulfills its mission, the growth and success of our students will illuminate our entire community, affirming GSIS as a beacon of light and leadership.
Our goal is to establish GSIS as one of the top premier international schools in Korea within five years and as a leading institution in East Asia within ten years, reaffirming our status as a distinguished Christian international school.
At GSIS, capability must be joined with purpose.
We want our students to discover their God-given gifts and develop them fully. At the same time, we want them to ask deeper questions: Why am I learning? What are my abilities for? How can I use what I have been given to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others?
Our Christian foundation gives these questions their deepest meaning. We hope our students will grow not only in knowledge and competence, but also in wisdom, integrity, humility, faith, and a heart for service—becoming internationally-minded people who use their gifts to lead and serve others for the glory of God.
This vision also challenges GSIS itself to continue learning and growing. As an IB Continuum School, we are committed to excellent teaching and learning while continually strengthening innovation, future-focused education, student support, leadership, service, and meaningful partnerships beyond our campus. We aspire not only to be an excellent school where students come to learn, but increasingly a school from which others come to learn.
The future will bring changes that none of us can fully anticipate. Yet I believe our calling as educators remains clear: to prepare young people with both the capability to flourish in a changing world and the purpose to use their lives well.
